My "Handmade Movement" story just aired on Local 10 News WPLG-ABC in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. In the story, I talk about the marriage between "do-it-yourself" crafters and the punk culture.
Here's a snippet from my online article.
“South Florida crafters and
artisans are cashing in on their skills by selling what they make by hand. Once
a month, promoters with the Indie Craft Bazaar host a craft show in Broward
County. Last month, the event was held at Revolution Live, a concert venue in
downtown Fort Lauderdale. Instead of needlepoint samplers, there are ceramic
skulls, hand-stitched iPad covers and binders made out of duct tape.”
