Constance & Her Husband Troy Near Matanuska Glacier |
Alaska is truly America's “last frontier” with mystical mountains, raw wilderness and crystal clear waters. My husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing the beautiful terrain early this Spring. We stayed in the ski resort village of Girdwood, which is roughly 20 minutes outside of Anchorage.
When you are surrounded by God’s creation, you definitely feel yourself going on a spiritual journey as you explore vast and absolutely breathtaking scenery. Here are some travel tips if you plan to take an Alaskan Adventure!
1. Seward Day Trip- Voted as the Best Day Trip in Alaska, Seward is a small fishing village with tons of places to stop along the way. It’s roughly 2-3 hours outside of Anchorage and worth the drive. Plan a few extra hours to visit Exit Glacier.

3. Eat Reindeer- I was not a fan of the city of Anchorage! It felt like a quite ghost town while we were there. But, you happen to be in the capitol, you have to stop at one of the local diners and try the local specialty. My husband and I enjoyed reindeer sausage with your breakfast. Sorry Santa- But Rudolph was yummy.
4. Double Musky- Offering the best Cajun food in Alaska. Yes, that might seem strange but I would go for more than the food. Double Musky is definitely a place where the locals frequent! If you have the time, check it out! It’s located in Girdwood.
