MIAMI, FL: The Miami Children’s Initiative (MCI) is working on breaking the cycle of poverty by investing in the children of Liberty City and their families. On June 3-4, 2016, MCI hosted its 4th annual “Over The Edge” fundraiser to raise awareness and funds to support the various programs they offer for children ages 3-18 years old. The event takes fundraising to another level! Participants are asked to rappel 19 stories (200 feet!) down the JW Marriott Marquis in Downtown Miami.
Ready to Rappel
I am afraid of heights! But after spending years covering stories in the Liberty City Community, I felt like it was important to bring awareness to this wonderful cause! Take a look at our live coverage on WPLG Local 10 News.
Over the Edge is a USA-based special events company that runs rappelling events for non-profit organizations anywhere in North America. Business leaders, individuals and community members are invited to raise donations in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of going over the edge of a prominent building.
